CYP2D6 Genotypes and Breast Cancer Outcomes in Indonesian Population (Year One follow-up of GENERATION study)

Many breast cancer patients possess incompatible CYP2D6 genotypes with the hormonal therapeutic, tamoxifen (TAM) resulting in poor outcomes. Nalagenetics is assessing the therapeutic outcome of patients undergoing personalized dosing of TAM based on genetic testing over the course of 3 years.

CYP2D6 Genotypes and Breast Cancer Outcomes in Indonesian Population (Year One follow-up of GENERATION study)

An expression of the estrogen receptor is a major indicator for potential responses with the hormonal treatment, tamoxifen (TAM). Previous statistics have shown that approximately 70% breast cancer (BC) patients diagnosed in Indonesia will be endocrine-receptor positive, insinuating a positive outlook for successful treatment with the drug. Moreover, TAM has since been proven to circumvent BC recurrence, primarily in pre-menopausal woman and reports have shown 170,000 prescriptions filled in 2015.
